Hi guys for sale here is my 1988 CBR400RR championship winning race bike that has also finished 4th in the 600-pre-injection race at Wirral 100 with a fully refreshed (0 miles) engine and piles of spares. I have decided to sell my lovely little 400 to help fund this year’s Manx GP she’s always wanted for nothing and is a very high spec bike.
She would make an ideal formula 400 or sub 64 bike as you can play with the ECU to dull it down a hp or two or even a perfect track day big bike destroyer.
race parts as follows:
Engine spec:
Full engine refreshed top to bottom by Leo Aldersey back end of last year with zero miles on it so will need bedding in.
65 hp at rear wheel
Rvf 400 pistons (higher dome to get the high compression as head can’t be skimmed due to gear driven cams)
Ignitec HRC spec reprogrammable ECU
Kevlar clutch plates with not much use
Kent reprofiled cams
Full GF Racing exhaust system (ones with ballence pipes on headers)
Carbs rebuilt, balanced and jetted to engine also with no miles since done
Running total loss but have the fly wheel and all to re fit if wanted
HRC airbox trumpets
Thin foam air filter (increases air flow through carbs)
Chassis spec:
V5 present so can get ridden on the road with daytime MOT but as me and the bike are in norther Ireland I will have to get it sent from home.
Nc29 17” rear wheel upgrade
Very good EBC front discs on dry wheel
Almost new SBS race sinter pads in front
Race rearsets set in race shift (can be easily reversed on the selector spline)
Race front fairing mount
Race clip-ons
CBR 600 shock with GF Racing internals (fully refreshed last year and only done one race at darley moor)
Original forks with GF Racing internals (fully refreshed last year and only done one race at darley moor)
Dynojet stand-alone quick shifter in race shift (may be reversable but not sure)
Brand new GF race fairings with rs250 tail unit professionally painted by custom paint and airbrushing in Darwen but do have the odd minor scratch due to being stored since last season
Tank and front hugger professionally painted by custom paint and airbrushing in Darwen
Braded hoses
Currently no rain light but is all hard wired ready to fit one
Captive front wheel spacers
Domino quick action throttle
Fully striped out and rebuilt loom
Cut down rear subframe
HRC rear brake reservoir
Lightly used DID 520 X ring chain
Spare parts:
Spare wheels (same setup as dry’s with nc29 rear)
3 Spare engines in bits with pretty much everything there (2 are back home in England but will organize getting them to Ireland if bought here)
Oil filter
Spare GF Racing fairing set in pretty bad condition but are in one piece to get you out of a tight spot if needed.
Selection of gearing to suit all short circuits and roads
Plus, a box full of other spare goodies.
This bike is very competitive and has won a championship back home in England in 2015 but as I say I need to priorities the Manx this year but don’t send silly offers as I know what this bike cost me to develop over the years and I’m not desperate to sell and not after a part ex.
